Moving Domains Across Accounts
Transfer a domain from one ImprovMX account to another.
This guide explains how to transfer a domain to a different ImprovMX account using a DNS verification method.
When You Might Need This
Domain transfers are necessary in several scenarios:
- Domains attached to incorrect accounts during creation
- Domains claimed by other users
- Transferring domains between multiple accounts you own
The Self-Service Process
ImprovMX provides an automated solution requiring DNS record verification to confirm domain ownership.
Step 1: Access the DNS Login Option
Go to the login page at app.improvmx.com/login and locate the option for "Login via DNS entry verification" at the bottom of the form.
Step 2: Enter Your Details
Enter your domain name and an email address for receiving credentials.
Step 3: Add the DNS TXT Record
The system will request a specific TXT record be added to your domain's DNS settings. This serves as ownership verification.
Step 4: Wait for Verification
ImprovMX servers check for this DNS entry periodically. Once detected, the domain transfers to the provided email address, and you will receive a one-time login link.
