Privacy Logging Levels
Control what ImprovMX logs about your emails.
ImprovMX maintains email logs primarily for troubleshooting delivery issues. By default, the system keeps email logs for 7 days before automatic deletion. Only paid subscribers can extend retention beyond this timeframe.
How to Configure
Adjust your logging preferences through Dashboard → Account Settings → Privacy.
Log Detail Levels
Three logging options are available:
Minimum Level
This setting stores only legally required information:
- Client IP and reverse DNS
- Hostname (HELO/EHLO)
- Return path email address
- Timestamp and connection duration
- Email size and server name
- Delivery status and response codes
- Retry attempts and scheduling
Note: Support may be limited if delivery issues occur with this setting, as less diagnostic information is available.
Standard Level
This includes all minimum data plus email metadata:
- Subject line
- Message ID
- Sender and recipient addresses
- Forwarded-to address
Full Level
This comprehensive option stores everything above, plus undelivered email content. This enables you to download failed messages for troubleshooting issues caused by temporary errors or spam filtering rejections.
Privacy Assurance
Logs are only used for troubleshooting delivery issues. We never read, alter, or share your data. Additional transparency information is available in our logging policy documentation.
