Strict MX Verification
Get alerts when another MX record outranks ImprovMX.
The Strict MX Verification setting alerts you when another MX record has higher priority than ImprovMX's record. This feature is enabled by default to help ensure proper email routing configuration.
How It Works
The system monitors whether ImprovMX maintains the highest priority MX record for your domain. When enabled, you will be alerted if any MX record outranks ImprovMX, which is useful when ImprovMX is your primary mail exchanger.
When to Enable
Keep this setting enabled when:
- ImprovMX should be your domain's primary mail exchanger
- You want notifications if priority changes occur
When to Disable
Disable this setting to avoid unnecessary alerts when:
- Using split delivery configurations
- ImprovMX serves as a secondary or failover option
- Another provider is intentionally set as higher priority
How to Configure
- Access your ImprovMX account dashboard
- Select your domain
- Navigate to Custom Settings
- Toggle the Strict MX Verification option on or off
